About Ascent Publishers
Our publishing company mission is to support and publish works that give evidence and testimony of the truth of spiritual principles and realities. Our objective is to continue to add content that inspires the individual to strive toward their highest potential. While the books move in a Christian direction, our foundational book 'One Great Whole' focuses on spiritual principles that are common and fundamental to most all religious and spiritual paths.
The thoughts presented are those stemming from the analytical reflection of the author and contributions of cited sources. The books stand independent of any institution or organization and any claims or errors are the singular responsibility of the author and no other entity or individual.
The books are offered in respect to all those who give their time and resources to reading and pondering their message. We understand that choosing to give the time for such an endeavor, with all of the other demands life places, is a gift of the reader. It is our hope that the reader will receive as much from that investment of time in reading the books, as we have received in writing them.
About the Author
Ryan Umari graduated from Colorado College with a degree in philosophy in 2002. In learning of people who related experiences during periods in which they were declared dead, and while having no brain or heart activity, Ryan realized that these experiences were not hallucinations, but evidence of the persistence of some aspect of human consciousness beyond mortal life. His research into this material, prompted his desire to write about spiritual principles with the same analytical rigor he developed while studying philosophy.
The books are a good faith effort to use the tools of logic and reason, in conjunction with some interesting evidences, to support and give evidence of spiritual principles. Ryan's writing is also influenced by his strong love and faith in God.
Publisher Symbol
The publishing company symbol of the Mountain and Cloud (also on the cover of 'The Spirit of God'), is meant to represent the mortal journey, and the Holy Ghost. A major theme in the books is discussion of the Holy Spirit as the sanctifying agent and guide needed for the individual to progress toward the summit of the spiritual mountain of Mortality. "After all, it is by the gift and power of the Holy Ghost that we are sanctified- made more holy, more complete, and more like God. The Holy Ghost is the agent of change. It is through the redemption of Christ and the sanctifying power of the Holy Ghost that we are spiritually born again." (Dale G. Renlund- 'Learning to Listen- Principles for Personal Revelation')
